ASRC Federal's Shareholder Program Office (SPO)

ASRC Federal’s Shareholder Programs Office (SPO) connects ASRC shareholders with ASRC Federal and its family of companies through career opportunities and professional and educational development programs. ASRC Federal and the SPO make every effort to introduce ASRC Federal’s employees to Iñupiaq culture and to promote a work atmosphere that is built upon the spirit of Iñupiaq values. 
The SPO coordinates a portfolio of programs and serves as the centralized function to answer questions for ASRC shareholders interested in career opportunities and development programs offered by ASRC Federal. Shareholder Internship Program

ASRC Federal’s Shareholder Internship Program offers ASRC shareholder college students and young professionals an opportunity to explore future careers by working alongside experienced mentors over a six to ten week time period. Internship placements are a great way to get on-the-job training, experience the professional work environment, build a network and gain work experience.

  • Every effort is made to place interns in positions that align with their career aspirations.
  • All interns are paid a competitive wage. 
  • Cost of transportation and lodging is covered for Shareholder Internship participants.

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be an ASRC shareholder
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college, university, apprenticeship or certification program or have attended at least one term or have graduated within the last 24 months.

Shareholder Externship Program

ASRC Federal's Shareholder Externship Program is a unique model, that enables ASRC shareholder students an opportunity to work under partner organizations with financial sponsorship from ASRC Federal. Shareholder Externships are designed to assist shareholder students who are pursuing degree programs outside of the ASRC Federal family of companies’ business offerings.

  • Student externs work under the direct supervision of personnel from the partner organization
  • Placements range from a couple of months to multiple-year agreements
  • Student externs work year round, 20 hours during the school year and up to 40 hours a week during the summer months

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be an ASRC shareholder.
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Be available to work up to 20 hours/wk while in school.

Space Camp Scholarship

ASRC Federal’s Space Camp Scholarship offers ASRC shareholder high school students a scholarship to attend the week-long Space Camp. Up to 14 students are offered the scholarship annually, chosen by a random drawing of all eligible student applicants. Selected students will have a chance to ignite their sense of discovery during their Space Academy training. During training, students are introduced to robotics, participate in a simulated space mission and build and launch model rockets.

  • Camp takes place at the US Space and Rocket Center, Huntsville, Alabama
  • One week program, students accompanied by an ASRC Federal chaperone 
  • Scholarship covers the costs of transportation, lodging, and camp tuition

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be an ASRC shareholder
  • Be a student in 9th through 12th grade (age 14 – 18, no one older than 18 years of age)
  • Have a minimum 2.5 GPA and in compliance with their schools discipline and attendance policy

Terp Young Scholars Program Scholarship

ASRC Federal's Terp Young Scholars Program Scholarship gives eight ASRC shareholder high school students an opportunity to experience college life through an immersive three week college readiness program. Students will enroll in one academic course, participate in field trips and guest lectures, and see what it’s like to live and eat on the University of Maryland campus.

  • Takes place at the University of Maryland, College Park campus
  • Three week program, students accompanied by an ASRC Federal chaperone
  • ASRC Federal covers costs of transportation, lodging and program tuition

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be an ASRC shareholder
  • 14 - 18 years of age, and have completed the ninth grade
  • Have a 3.5 GPA (Students with 3.0-3.5 GPA will be waitlisted)
  • Complete and return the ASRC Federal application form BEFORE applying with the university

American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) National Conference Scholarship

Each fall, ASRC Federal partners with the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) by sponsoring ASRC shareholder college students to attend the AISES National Conference.  This annual three-day conference brings together students and workforce professionals to foster the success of American Indian and Alaska Natives in STEM fields. The conference hosts one of the largest career fairs in Indian Country, with many companies and agencies hiring on the spot, and others looking to identify talent for future recruitment. Students also have the opportunity to participate in personal and professional development workshops and social activities with other native students, scholars, and professionals from around the country.

  • Open to ASRC shareholder students currently enrolled in college
  • ASRC Federal covers the costs of conference registration fees, travel and lodging, as well as annual AISES membership dues for each scholarship recipient

October 4-6, 2018, in Oklahoma City, OK.
